Acceptable Use Policy
This is the plain-language version of what you can and cannot do on servers operated by Initech LLC, and exactly what happens when an abuse report arrives. The legally binding text is section 4 of the Terms of Service; this page is how we actually run things.
What is not allowed
- Spam: unsolicited bulk messaging of any kind, whether email, SMS, or messenger platforms.
- Phishing and impersonation: credential harvesting, fake login pages, brand impersonation.
- Malware: hosting, distributing, or commanding malware, including botnet command and control.
- Attacks: denial-of-service attacks or infrastructure for them, unauthorized access attempts, brute forcing, and aggressive scanning of networks you do not own.
- Child sexual abuse material: immediate termination and referral to the authorities. There is no notice period and no appeal.
- Fraud: carding, fake shops, money laundering, and any other scheme that takes money or data under false pretenses.
- Infringing distribution: hosting or distributing content that violates intellectual property rights.
- Everything illegal in the jurisdiction your server runs in, and resource abuse that degrades other customers.
Your server runs on the upstream provider named at checkout (Vultr, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, or Alibaba Cloud). That provider's own acceptable use terms apply to their infrastructure as well.
How enforcement actually works
We do not proactively police your servers. We are not reading your disks or inspecting your traffic. Enforcement starts when an abuse report reaches us from an upstream provider, a security vendor, or a member of the public.
- Reports are verified first. Before acting we confirm the report actually concerns your server and the time period in question.
- Suspension comes before termination. A verified report leads to suspension, not deletion, except where the law or the upstream provider forces immediate action.
- You always hear about it. We tell you what was reported and what happens next, and you have 48 hours to respond before any further step.
- Repeat abuse closes the account. A second verified incident ends the relationship.
- We answer every report. Upstream providers get a response within their deadline, every time. That is part of why the platform stays up for everyone else.
Reporting abuse
Seeing abuse from an address on our ranges? Email [email protected] or open a ticket. Include the IP address, timestamps with a timezone, and any logs you can share. Every report gets read and answered.
